Plot:
Several years have passed since Moana (Auli’i Cravalho) sailed beyond the reef and restored the heart of Te Fiti, bringing peace and prosperity to the islands of the Pacific. Now, as the new chief of Motunui, Moana has embraced her role in guiding her people and protecting the traditions of the islands. Her leadership is tested when an ancient force from the ocean, long thought to be myth, resurfaces to claim the Heart of Te Fiti once more.
A terrifying storm rages across the seas, sweeping away villages and throwing the islands into turmoil. It’s revealed that a dark entity called Vaka (voiced by Jason Momoa), an ancient sea god, has awoken from his slumber beneath the ocean’s depths. He seeks to reclaim the Heart, believing that it is the only way to restore the balance of the world’s oceans. Vaka is a powerful force of nature, capable of manipulating the sea and controlling massive waves, storms, and tidal waves.
As Moana must defend her people from Vaka’s wrath, she learns that there is a deeper connection between the Heart of Te Fiti and the very soul of the ocean itself. With Maui (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) by her side, Moana sets sail on a perilous adventure to understand the true purpose of the Heart and the ancient ocean gods’ will. Along the way, she discovers long-lost islands, mysterious sea creatures, and ancient truths that will change the course of her destiny.
The journey will not only test her strength but also force Moana to confront the deeper questions about the balance of nature, her responsibility as a leader, and the legacy of her ancestors.
